The first chapter of the 100 Black Men Of America, Inc. (100 BMOA) was founded in 1963 and now the organization has 121 chapters throughout the United States, along with chapters in Europe, Africa and Caribbean. The mission of the 100 BMOA is to improve the quality of life within our communities and enhance educational and economic opportunities for all African Americans. As you can see it has a long and rich history of serving communities around the world. Men from all walks of life participate in the 100. Globally, chapters are engaged in innovative mentoring programs that serve the unique needs in their local communities.

Chartered in 2007, the 100 Black Men of the Monterey Peninsula Chapter has committed to providing focused, effective, and participatory leadership in communities throughout the greater Monterey Peninsula area. Relative to "Five for the Future" we believe our greatest challenge is to see beyond the problems, to solution-focused possibilities. We are actively engaged in seeking out and developing strategic partnerships with other organizations, agencies, and institutions, which share our values of addressing social issues and creating a brighter future for all citizens in our community.
The Monterey Peninsula Chapter of the 100 is proud of its affiliation with The 100 BMOA, an internationally recognized body of strong black men. The men of this chapter are blessed and pleased to lend our talents, energies, and vision in service to our community. We pledge our commitment to be active participants in the greater Monterey Bay Area community to empower our people to become self-sufficient shareholders in the economic and social fabric of the communities we serve.
